I love all of your books. I have all of your books. I re-read them often as I just love the stories. When will the second of BETWEEN US GIRLS coming out? I can hardly wait to continue this story line. I recommend all your books to my friends and those I work with. You are one of my very favorite authors.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement through the years.
I hope you like this new one! It's Book 1 in the Family of the Heart Series.

Congratulations for your recent acfw award. It was w great book. I am watching for your next novel!
9/28/2013 6:52:12 PM
Hi Sally, I love your stories and the opportunity they give to witness! Any chance for a book 5 in the "Other Way Home" series? It would be awesome to see how Britte and Joel use their engagement as an opportunity to be role models for the students (and if the wedding colors are school colors ;) and also how Kate adapts to life in Valley Oaks for good! Thank You!!!!
5/4/2013 6:58:40 PM
The list on the side bar of your website isn't a complete listing, is it? If I might suggest it, a tab to a page with a complete list of your book titles and series would be wonderful. I have seen sites of other Christian Fiction authors which have this and find it very helpful. My Mom is the reader and I get books for her. She enjoyed Desert Gift. She would like to read book one of that series, and any others in the Side Roads series, but I do not know the titles. Could you give me that information, please? Thank you!
2/7/2013 2:37:13 AM
Sally, I so hope you put out a # 4 of Safe Harbor! We have to find out about Jenna & Kevin"s with their baby to be! How they are doing with their Marine families! How Danny & Skylar cope with their life after she is out of prison! I love reading your books! So keep up the good work! God Bless!
12/19/2012 1:22:36 PM
When is your next book coming out?
8/30/2012 10:49:44 AM
I have just started readding Christian Based Books and stumbled upon "A Journey by Chance" at my local library. I could not put this book down! And now I am so ready to rea the entire series!!! Thank you for your writing because it is helping me with my faith also. Bless you and please keep writting!
7/16/2012 6:00:22 PM
Bless you, Mary.
7/11/2012 10:37:41 PM
I just finished The Beach House and Castles in the Sand....they've been instrumental in helping me let God back into my life. For many years, I have been writing to heal my wounds from losing 3 children. I wish I had half your talent to be able to put it all together in a way that helps women (and their husbands!) heal with my words and God's touch. You have an amazing gift. I'm glad I found it! :)
7/6/2012 2:03:26 PM
Just a catch-up thanks to you all. I can't tell you how much I appreciate your encouraging comments and your willingness to express them here for others to read. Bless you and happy summertime.

Just found your books as I was browsing the library. Wow. Thought I was healed of all those memories. But a new level of healing has been pointed out. Please email me. I need to tell you how much your books have meant to me
3/20/2012 6:00:44 PM
Thanks Sally for writing the "Other Way Home" books. I just read all four of them within the last week and enjoyed all of them. Hope to see them start again. My eyes aren't that good so I read large print books. I am waiting for our library to get more of your books. Thanks.
2/26/2012 3:42:28 PM
I read the book about the middle age lady who goes home to settle her mother estate that once was a store on the water. She lives with her horrible mother-in-law and spoilt daughter and a husband who died from war injuries. But I can not remeber the name of the series or find the books.
2/25/2012 5:37:00 PM
Thank you for your faithfulness to the Lord in using the talent He has given you and in walking in His ways. I was 20 yrs. a nun, left the convent, met a former priest, married him and enjoyed 37 years with him until he joined glory with Jesus five years ago.
If you lived closer (I'm in Moses Lake, WA}, you would be one of my closest friends.
GOD BLESS YOU.
2/7/2012 5:18:31 AM
I LOVE the Other Way Home series! I have read them three times now! Do you think you'll ever add on to this series?? I really miss reading about this small town and am always sad to come to the end of The Winding Road Home because I know there aren't any more books to read! I look forward to reading your other series as well.
1/21/2012 12:13:19 PM
Just finished A Time to Surrender. I am late for work because I couldn't put it down. Please, please write more with Gary Smalley, and more on your own. I found the The Other Way Home series by accident a couple of weeks ago. Going back to the library to locate everything else you have written. You and Karen Kingsbury are my very most favorite authors. Keep up the great work.
1/20/2012 8:25:54 PM
Hi Sally, I just signed up to review books for Tyndale and Heart Echoes is the first book I'll be reviewing. I found your blogs and am SO INSPIRED!!!! I'm 51 and have known I wanted to write since I was 10. Just this past week I have started jotting down main ideas for what I thought might be a type of autobiography/testimony. But just reading about your zeal for fiction is making me think that may be the way to go...turn my story into fiction, but close to the real one....with the same purpose: to glorify the Lord. I love that quote,"To witness the glimpses of God that I have been allowed to catch." Thanks for writing your blog about the process you go through as you're writing. I look forward to reading your book. Blessings, Julie

Hello-I hope that you and Tim had a wonderful Christmas. I am looking forward to the next new book. I have read them all since becoming a stay at home mom!! I miss seeing Tim at the office. Tell him hello!! Thanks!!!
1/7/2012 1:07:33 PM
Hi Sally, Just a note to say how much I have enjoyed your books. I've read The Beach House, Other Way Home and Safe Harbor Series. I came to this site looking for #4 in Safe Harbor, but saw on earlier posts there is no #4! That is very sad news. Hopefully that will change in time. Thank you for all of your good stories. God Bless You.
12/12/2011 4:44:18 AM
Sally, I'm with Linda and Judy, what happens to the man who honors God and walks away? I hope to read Luke's story next, what an honorable character you created! Thanks for a great book in Ransomed Dreams!

Hi Sally! I just finished "A Journey by Chance" and really enjoyed your book on frogiveness and following God's plan in your life. I read alot of Karen Kingsbury, Jan Karon & Jane Kirkpatrick. I sat down & read your book in 2 days. Hope to read alot more of yours.
11/23/2011 10:58:59 AM
Linda in Illinois and Judy from Iowa ~ Okay now that we have a second on the Luke Traynor-continuing story idea, I'm seriously considering it. I recently started creating a new character and he needs to be in the same type of role as Luke. Well! Why not make him Luke? =) Thanks, ladies.
Also - fun to hear that you read RD on Kindle, Linda!
11/23/2011 10:52:15 AM
Lorraine ~ Thank you so much for your note. The series was a wonderful way to incorporate some of Gary's helpful teaching. I am glad to hear that "A Time to Heal" spoke to you! God bless.
Linda in Illinois
11/10/2011 6:19:08 PM
I just finished my Kindle copy of Ransomed Dreams. I'm seconding Judy from Iowa's thoughts because I'd love to see a book that tells more of Luke's story. I'd like to see a rewarding ending for a man who chose to do the right thing in a very difficult emotional situation.
Lorraine from Canada
10/21/2011 12:29:57 PM
I thank you Sally John and Gary Smalley for writing "A Time to Heal". I shed many tears as I read it as I identified with some parallels in my own life. I selected it because God prompted me to consider some new authors in the inspirational section of the libray. I have received great encouragement from Gary's video series and books over the years.
10/14/2011 10:20:16 AM
Judy from Iowa ~ Thank you for your thoughtful response to Ransomed Dreams. :) Luke was an interesting character, a bit of a mystery. I liked him a lot. Great idea about telling more of his story! I'll file that for future reference.
10/14/2011 10:14:29 AM
Am I slow at responding or what....
Janet Bridges - Thank you for your question. Unfortunately there is no Safe Harbors #4 in the works. :( I appreciate that readers are wanting one!
Judy from Iowa
7/21/2011 8:51:07 PM
I just finished "Ransomed Dreams" and loved the book. I really liked that Sher, even though attracted to another man, realized that God wanted her to trust Him to carry her through all the difficulties "that she never signed up for" in her marriage. It was a fulfilling ending to see their marriage bloom again, but what about Luke Trayner? I really feel for him, a man who never pushed this woman he had fallen in love with into anything they might later regret but was willing to be by her side when things got too difficult for her to handle. Will he have his own story sometime, hope so. I liked his integrity and unselfishness. I have enjoy every one of your books that I have read and am working on the rest of your book list.
7/13/2011 10:22:50 AM
When will you be coming out with #4 in the Safe
Harbors Series? We have the other 3 and our patrons are asking about #4. Thanks so much
5/13/2011 12:31:20 PM
DESERT GIFT has just been released. =) Big smiles here.

You can read a review at:
I look forward to your "reviews" here! Thank you for your support and encouragement.

Cindy from MN ~ Thank you for your encouraging words. I wanted to write about turning 50, but after talking with others went with turning 40. I had to think back a bit! I also had some help from younger readers reminding me what that age was like.
Cindy from MN
4/9/2011 10:22:20 AM
I checked out your book, 'The Beach House' from our church library and loved it! I am a little older than your characters and felt that what they were dealing with in their lives, is typical of many women their age. I liked how you wove faith into your book and look forward to reading it's sequel! My husband is from San Diego and I liked how southern CA was woven into the storyline as well. I look forward to reading more of your books!
3/22/2011 7:56:13 PM
Hi Kathy ~ Aw, thanks. Appreciate the encouraging words. I always say they make my day and keep me going. Bless you. Series are funny things...in my imagination, characters keep on going -- but getting them in print is a whole other thing! :)
3/22/2011 7:52:10 PM
Hi Laura ~ Unfortunately we don't have any titles in audio form yet! :( Thanks for asking. I may ask someone in charge. :)
3/12/2011 1:45:33 PM
I have just finished the "Safe Harbor Series". I absolutely loved it. You are a great writer. It would be awesome to be able to read another book to this series. The end of it could definetly have another one to follow. I'm sure alot of your readers would say the same as me. I plan on reading some more of your books. Hopefully God will lay something on your heart to write another one in this series to finish it up. You are an awesome writer.
3/10/2011 2:41:55 AM
Just wondering if any of your books are in audio form for listening on an ipod?
1/31/2011 3:32:44 PM
No I have not read The beach house but i will look for it.
1/24/2011 5:53:43 PM
NEW EMAIL ADDRESS: For those of you who would like to contact me privately, my new address is ~
I welcome your emails!
1/24/2011 5:52:40 PM
Kimberley ~ Thank you! And you are so welcome. I always liked C.S. Lewis's thinking on the subject. I'll probably misquote but it goes along the lines of: Christianity is like a mansion; every room is a different denomination with different furnishings, different styles, each appealing to different personalities - but we're all in the same house.
By the way have you read The Beach House? My four ladies in that story are Catholic. ;)
1/24/2011 5:44:08 PM
Lynne ~ Thank you for your blessing! And thank you for your encouraging words that remind me why I write. I need that to pause and remember now and then, especially at times like today when I am in the middle of a new story, emotionally involved with characters in the middle of their problems. Bless you.
1/5/2011 9:02:32 PM
I just finshed reading Ransomed. I am a Catholic- my friends and i prefer to read Christian books but in so many cases any characters who are Catholic are either: finally saved and leave the Catholic church for a non Catholic church or are a true cliche character, very few are depicted in a positive light. I thank you and hope to see more authentic Catholics in Christian books.
12/27/2010 2:51:51 PM
Words can not express how you have touched my heart and expressed GOD's love in such a real every day way. I know the characters you write about because I have met them in real life from your stories. Thank you so much for the problems they encounter and the solutions that are faith based. Please continue to write and help people to see that GOD always has an answer to our problems, no matter how things appear.
May GOD bless you and your family and rain down HIS blessings upon your writing so that others may come to faith in HIS only begotten SON,

The Barnes and Noble link is working now.
12/20/2010 4:38:39 PM
An FYI ... at the moment our link from here to Barnes and Noble is not working properly. Many apologies! We will get on it asap.
12/20/2010 4:37:00 PM
I appreciate all the many encouraging messages from you readers. THANK YOU!
To the most recent ones...Thank you, Beverley, for letting me know how you were challenged through Castles. When I hear such responses, I just sigh and thank God for how fiction touches hearts.
Thank you, Stacy, for helping get the books into a school library.
Thank you, Jane and Stacy, for wanting the Other Way series to continue. :) It would be fun to see where those characters are up to! (Unfortunately it's a business decision that determines these things.)
9/29/2010 10:08:22 AM
Hi, I just finished reading "The Other Way Home" series. These four books were my first experience with your writing. I loved the books, and will encourage our school librarian to order them. I am sure my students will love them too, and as teens they can always use the reinforcement of good messages! I was wondering if you had thought about a continuation series with the characters? I miss them all ready and am dying to find out what is happening with them!!
Thank you, and may God bless you and your family.
9/27/2010 11:00:13 PM
I have just read Castles in the Sand. I have been challenged by God, through reading this book, to continue to pray without ceasing for my family. Thanks!
9/24/2010 4:59:19 PM
Hi Sally, I absolutely LOVE your books!! I just finished reading "Just to see you smile" and was wondering if you're going to continue the story line involving Val. I went through that exact situation. Thank you for sharing your talent!
7/16/2010 1:03:57 PM
Just a reminder -- RANSOMED DREAMS is now available!
7/16/2010 1:02:41 PM
Hi Karen ~ Yes, the books are available at Amazon and other online bookstores. ("Real" bookstores in buildings can also order them.)
Hm...where to begin? The series are usually, in my opinion, more interesting when read in order. The exceptions are: THE BEACH HOUSE SERIES (#1 The Beach House; #2 Castles in the Sand) and my newest SIDE ROADS SERIES (#1 Ransomed Dreams; #2 will be out next year) because these stories have different characters in each book.
So...THE OTHER WAY HOMES SERIES is about small town Illinois. In order (I'm shortening titles here...they're all listed on this website): #1 "Journey"; #2 "After All"; #3 "Smile"; #4 "Road".
IN A HEARTBEAT SERIES is about emergency workers, firefighter, paramedic, policewoman. In order: #1 "Heartbeat"; #2 "Flash Point"; #3 "Moment".
THE BEACH HOUSE SERIES is set on a San Diego beach (any order): "The Beach House" (about friends turning 40); "Castles in the Sand" (about a pastor and his wife becoming 'real').
SAFE HARBORS (co-authored with Gary Smalley) is about a San Diego family and their retreat center: #1 "Mend"; #2 "Gather"; #3 "Surrender".
Any other readers out there who want to comment on where to begin? Please post a note for Karen!
7/16/2010 12:38:16 PM
Lee Ann - Thanks for your note. I am so encouraged when a reader wants more. =) It tells me the characters spoke to you in some way. I tried really, really hard to tie up all the loose ends in A Time to Surrender (Safe Harbors #3). There were a lot of them by then with all those Beaumonts! LOL. If you give me some ideas, I might be able to figure out what's still going on with this family. =) You can email me at sallyjohnbook.com if you like.
7/12/2010 12:23:33 AM
A friend told me about your books and I would love to beging reading them. I think Amazon has them. Is there an order in which the books should be read? Which ones do you recommend to start with?
7/9/2010 9:55:13 PM
Please, please, please give us another book in the Safe Harbor Series! There were too many unanswered questions at the end of the third book. If you can't give us another book in that series please write a chapter or two for the website to tie up all of the loose ends. Thanks!
7/6/2010 10:57:41 AM
Greta ~ Thank you for your note! Yes, "Moment of Truth" is out; it should be available through Amazon.com, other online bookstores; any bookstore can order it for you as well (Family, Borders, etc).
7/6/2010 10:55:05 AM
Betty - The "In a Heartbeat Series" should be available at Amazon.com; or a bookstore can order them for you; or check out HarvestHousePublishers.com; or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I'll get them to you. I really, really like building church libraries. :)
7/4/2010 1:51:57 PM
Sally, where would we be able to get the "In A Heartbeat Series"? We would like to order them for our church library.
Thenks for your help.
6/25/2010 7:23:40 PM
I've read all your books and so love all of them. I just go you latest one I can wait to start reading it. I'm finishing up "Flashpoint" and am wondering when or if the "Moment of Truth" will be out or is out and I can't find it? I so want to read the last book this story line is pretty hard to put down. Please, let me know where I can find the last one or when it will be out.
6/23/2010 3:39:45 PM
NEW BOOK!!!!!! As of late June 2010, RANSOMED DREAMS is available. It's the first in a new series called "Side Roads," about a couple who find themselves on a side road of life, living in a small Mexican village, something they never planned on doing. Read more about it here or at TyndalePublishers.com or at online bookstores like Amazon -- or at your local bookstore. Looking forward to your comments! Blessings.
5/26/2010 7:08:43 PM
Regina - If you ever want to talk about writing, email me at email@example.com. =) No I did not have a chance to get back to Erin. So many characters, so little time. Bless you.
5/26/2010 7:06:36 PM
Suzie - Thank you! I so respect what you do. I want to say I can't imagine -- but I did try to! I read stories written by Paramedics and talked with some. Two in particular helped me, one in Chicago and another who worked on a helicopter in northern Illinois. :)
5/26/2010 7:03:38 PM
Thank you, SAFE HARBORS readers! I am so grateful for your responses to these stories and I do thank God for any positive impact on hearts. I love the Beaumonts. =) I wish I could spend more time with them.
I'm so sorry to say that at the moment there are no plans to continue with that particular series. I hope you'll share the stories with others. Blessings.
5/25/2010 3:56:51 PM
PLEASE, PLEASE can someone tell me if there is going to be another Safe Harbor book??? The series has changed my life and I want to know what else will happen with the characters.
5/6/2010 10:22:21 PM
Please, please write more in the Safe Harbor series. That series is amazing! It has touched so many lives and I really pray it keeps expanding. :)
4/18/2010 4:41:09 PM
I spent about 30 minutes roaming around a Christian bookstore looking for a new book to read. None of the novels were really sparking my interest until I turned and saw the cover for Flash Point. I am a Paramedic and the book description really sparked (no pun intended) my interest. I read the book in just 4 days, couldn't hardly put it down. I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the other books in the series. Sally you did a wonderful job describing the emotional rollar coaster that being a Paramedic can entail. Thank you for such a wonderful story! God bless you!
3/17/2010 3:33:34 PM
I have enjoyed your books and I too am a Reading Specialist thinking of writing when I retire in 7 years. can't wait for your new one. Did you write one to follow up on Erin the stalker in Flashpoint?
3/9/2010 1:06:49 PM
Will there be a #4 in the Safe Harbor series
2/26/2010 4:07:49 PM
NEWS!! The new book is coming.... RANSOMED DREAMS will be out in July which is really not that far away. It's time to anticipate. Thanks to my husband, we have the cover up and some notes here on the site for you to check out.
Also I'm working on a FACEBOOK page for readers. If you're there, look for Sally John Books ... but maybe not until mid-March...right now there are 3 pages under that name so I'm not sure what will work. I should stick to fiction. LOL.
2/26/2010 4:04:07 PM
KASEY - You're here twice! I missed that. How fun to rad that you rushed to the bookstore. :) I do enjoy writing my stories more than I can say.
2/26/2010 4:03:00 PM
CAROL D - Thank you too for your note! Wow, at the top. =) As long as I don't get a big head that does encourage me to do my best. Interesting about Normal...I went to ISU. Originally from Moline. I love the Midwest but also the west coast which explains the Beach House series. :) Blessings.
2/26/2010 3:59:48 PM
KASEY - Thank you for your encouraging note. Bless you!
2/1/2010 10:57:05 PM

I'm sad that there is not another book in the works for the Beaumont family. I came to your sight today looking to see if a 4th one was on its way. I feel like I need to know the rest of their story.

10/12/2009 6:46:23 PM
Just finished the Other Way Home Series...are there more to come with these characters or is this good-bye. Love them!!
10/5/2009 9:34:34 AM
Thank you for using your gift of writing to uplift and educate. I am halfway through A Time to Mend, my first taste of your work, and am compelled to subsequently gobble up all of your books with gusto! Your ministry is greatly appreciated. (Also b. 1951)
9/21/2009 12:19:36 PM
Wow!! I love your books. I grew up in Lakeside, California and received your "Beach House" book as a gift from my Secret Sister at church. I love the ocean and I really enjoyed your Beach House series. I live in Idaho now, so reading the Beach House series brought many memories back as I love the ocean and the boardwalk. I have almost read all your series now, just finishing the last book of the "Heartbeat" series. I don't want it to end!! I love all your books and they have helped me heal in many ways, you just don't have any idea. Can't wait until your next series!!!
9/17/2009 10:55:02 AM
I love your books. Just finished A Time to Surrender, #3 in Safe Harbor series. Greedily, I hope there will be a #4!
8/27/2009 12:32:02 AM
I have spent a lot of my summer reading your first three series. I started in Feb. but don't read much when school is in. I'm a latecomer to the series, but have enjoyed them all, especially Beach House series. God really used them to speak to me about several past issues. Looking forward to the next series!
8/22/2009 1:24:17 PM
Like many others, your books bless my life and help me grow in another way in which I am blessed. I do hope you will be inspired to write another Beaumont book.
8/7/2009 4:06:17 PM
Vicky - and other readers wondering about THE BEACH HOUSE SERIES... Trish Perry is the author of SUNSET BEACH and BEACH DREAMS. It was a pleasure to be her "consultant" for her work and then to read her stories that seamlessly incorporate the beach, the house, Juian, and Zeke. =)

=( Yes, it's true...there is no new Beaumont family story in the works at this time. Thank you all for wanting more!
8/5/2009 12:41:29 PM
Do you really mean it? No more heart-changing stories about the Beaumont family?
8/5/2009 10:49:13 AM
Wow just finished the In a Heartbeat series. It's great. All my freinds love it to. And each story brings something different out. Something real people can relate to(my friend said that)
LOVE THE BOOKS!!!!!!
7/28/2009 10:52:08 AM
Thanks for responding, but I had already actually read all three of your books! I was just seeing if there was going to be a sequel to a Time to Surrender? A 4th book in the series?? hehe :)
7/27/2009 5:14:50 PM
Just finished reading "A Time To Surrender." What a glorious series. I absolutely love this family and feel as if I know them. I absolutely love the way you develop you characters and get us to really care about them. I am new to reading your books, but I will definitely read more of them. Thanks for a great series, I hate to see it end. God Bless.

I recently purchased The Beach House andCastles in the Sand, and now I see there is Beach Dreams and Sunset Beach by Trish Perry, are they part of your series, if so I'll order them. Real confused right now, The Beach HOuse is very good. I'm always trying to find new authors and I think I have found a good one.
7/24/2009 11:49:13 PM
Sally, Please tell me A Time to Surrender is not the last in the Safe Harbor series. It is excellent. I want to know more about the family and how things turn out. Thanks for blessing others with your gift.
7/24/2009 11:52:04 AM
Bonnie, thanks for your note! I really loved the Beaumonts too. :) But, new book plans at this point do not include them. A new series is in the works.

Hi Missy! Thank you!! :) Wow, I haven't thought of Gina and Brady's song for years. I made up the words. I based it on an oldie from 1969 by Michel Legrand called "What Are You Doing the Rest of Your Life?" He composed several songs for movies that are familiar. I would have quoted this one directly but that would have involved getting copyright permission, and I didn't have time to do that. If you know the tune, my words might fit. Well, maybe if you use your imagination a whole lot...
7/24/2009 11:40:05 AM
Amanda K - Thanks so much for your note. I love to hear when a story pulls in a reader from the beginning. I am grateful beyond words when I hear that a reader sees God's love and forgiveness through my characters. :)
7/24/2009 11:36:23 AM
To my granddaughters, Kaiya and Aliah, thank you for your notes! Kaiya, your idea for a new screen name is perfect! I love you two.
7/20/2009 2:05:02 PM
I just finshed reading A Time To Surrender. I loved it as I did the first 2 books, and I am hoping that there will be a 4th book. I just so love the Beaumont family, I am not ready to be done with them.
7/16/2009 12:25:05 PM
Hi Sally! I just got done reading A Journey By Chance! It was really really really good!!!!! You are a great author. I was just wondering if Brady and Gina's "song" was a actual song and if so.... what's the name of it? Thanks! and keep up the good work. I can't wait to start the next book!!!
7/15/2009 12:11:14 PM
I love to read but the books have to pull me in...that is just what A JOURNEY BY CHANCE did. Once I find an author I like I own all the books they write. Thank you for serving GOD by including HIM in your stories. I truly liked this one book and cannot wait for more to be in my hands.

Hi, Lisa ~ Did you make my day or what? :) Thank you for telling me how much you like my stories. At the moment I'm in between projects - which is why I'm here at the website that I don't get to often enough most of the time. I just turned in Book 1 of a new series and will keep you all posted on it's progress. At the moment I think it's release date is spring 2010. I know, I know - a long, long time from now! Ack! :) So much work goes into a book by so many people. I appreciate my editors and publishers who want to produce the best possible book, story-wise and design-wise.
7/9/2009 12:55:10 PM
Hi, Rebekah ~ Thank you for your note - Thank you for already picking up a copy of the newest release! :) There are just the 3 titles in the Safe Harbor series with Gary Smalley: #1 A TIME TO MEND; #2 A TIME TO GATHER; #3 A TIME TO SURRENDER. It's probably more enjoyable to read them in order, but the main storylines in each are different so it's not necessary to go in order. I'm glad they're all available now especially for readers like me who crave things in ORDER. :)

I just wanted to let you know that you are easily the best fiction writer I have ever read. Your stories are simple yet detailed, they caught my attention from the beginning. I honestly found myself feeling that I was actually in the beach house with everyone in "Castles in the Sand". Thanks for your talent, and keep writing more, please!!
7/8/2009 11:41:07 AM
Hi, Sharon Brown ~ Thank you for your comments on my stories. I appreciate your insight and thank God that things like the power of forgiveness and the reality of Him at work in our lives, making us new. :)
7/8/2009 11:34:58 AM
Hey, Jennifer Stearns - Thank you for you encouraging note. I know many of us "hear" you about the romance angle. :)
7/8/2009 11:24:56 AM
Hey, Gina Delgado ~ Thank you for your note. I seem to keep going back to San Diego settings. :) It's my favorite place on earth! The books set there are: A TIME TO MEND, A TIME TO GATHER, A TIME TO SURRENDER, THE BEACH HOUSE, CASTLES IN THE SAND. My first 3 books, now out of print but available online through used book outlets, are set there as well: IN THE SHADOW OF LOVE, SURRENDER OF THE HEART, & TO DREAM AGAIN. (Also Trish Perry's titles in The Beach House Series--SUNSET BEACH & BEACH DREAMS). (Interesting tidbit - I have characters named "Gina" in A JOURNEY BY CHANCE and "Rosie Delgado" in A TIME TO SURRENDER. :)
7/2/2009 1:41:17 PM
Sally, I have never been much of a reader, but I just read 'Castles in the Sand' (my mother-in-law had the book) and I could not put it down once I started reading it. I am now looking forward to purchasing more of your book. Thanks for a great book.
7/1/2009 10:54:58 AM
I came across your Safe Harbor collection while I was waiting for Karen Kingsbury to come out with another book and I fell in love with the series. I just finished A Time To Surrender, read it within a couple days! I'm wondering if you're going to continue with the series? I hope so! Thank you, God Bless.
7/1/2009 10:54:38 AM
Hi Sally, I have just finished the Castles in the Sand a few minutes ago and had to find out more about you. I have read a Time to Mend, A Time to Gather, The Beach House, and as I said just finished Castles in the Sand. Your books really speak to me and I love how you weave the Gospel and the power of it and God's love in our lives. I love how you show healing when people truly experience forgiveness the way God gives it. It encourages me to forgive and offer that advice to those around me. God's love truly does change our lives and it is so refreshing to read about it. I just bought a Time to Surrender and can't wait to start it. I am looking forward to another Beach house series book too. Thanks for letting God use you to bring about change in the lives of others.

Sally, I have always loved romance novels. Being a Christian it felt wrong to continue reading them. I picked your book up not knowing that you were a Christian author. Along about chapter 2 of the first in the series In a Heartbeat, I was hooked. I am finishing up the last book and I feel that i am sitting right there watching the book unfold. I will not rest until I have read ever book that you have out. Thanks again for letting me continue my love affair with romance novels in a Christina like way. I truly hope that there are more. Love how the second character in the last book becomes the main character in the next book. Thanks again Jennifer Stearns
7/1/2009 10:54:01 AM
Sally, as you know, I have ALL of your books and have enjoyed them so much. I've read and re-read them. I highly recommend anyone to "search" for your first books also. The Lord has truly blessed you with your writing talent and thank you for giving Him the Glory. Many Blessings.
7/1/2009 10:52:36 AM
Hi Kelly! I'm so pleased that you are enjoying The Beach House. That was particularly fun for me to write as it takes place on Mission Beach where Tim (my husband)and I have spent considerable time. There is a yellow beach house there that was my model for the story. This is the only story that those characters you asked about are in. But Julian is in the next book of the series, Castles in the Sand. Thank you for reading my books! Sally
7/1/2009 10:52:19 AM
Hi Sally, I am currently reading The Beach House, and I'm really enjoying it. I am only 27, so honestly I wasn't sure if I'd be able to relate to these ladies and the things they deal with. But that hasn't been a problem so far. I love reading about the things they are dealing with and reading the interactions between them. I also have loved reading how they change and grow while they're at the beach, especially Andi. My favorite character is Char. I'm only halfway through the book, so I'm sure there's alot more coming my way. I just had one question...do Char, Molly, Andi, and Joe make an appearance in the other books in this series? Oh, and I also read the first couple chapters of A Time To Mend...I can tell I'm going to LOVE that book. :) Thanks!

Oh my goodness!! I got the whole "Other Way Home" 4 book set as an early Christmas present from my hubby who knows I love Christian books and series. These books are amazing! I spent 3 whole days reading and finished the first 3 books. I'm starting on the 4th book tonight and I can't wait to see what happens!! When I finish I will definitely be running to the store to buy more of these books!! My mom and I read all the Karen Kingsbury books together and are now sharing these with each other. Its such a great tool for she and I to bond and grow closer together! Thanks and God bless!!

When I first saw this book at the store, I read the description what the book was about and got excited that the story developes in San Diego where I lived for 19 years. Reading the book brought back wonderful memories of all the places in your books I had visited many times. The book is very inspirational and helped to remind me to trust in God and have faith that he loves us and wants the best for us. I gave the book to my best friend's mom who finished and has asked me to find her more of your books. I am very excited that we have found a great new author and are looking forward to read more of your books. Are there any more books written in San Diego? Thank you for a great book.

Hi all! Thank you for the most encouraging notes. You're a blessing to me. Tim and I are preparing to move into a more permanent home, six months now after the fire. God has abundantly provided for all of our needs - and then some. Book 2 in the Safe Harbor Series is finished. \O/ Watch for A TIME TO GATHER late this summer. I'm very excited about it. You'll get to see how Claire and Max are doing as well as meet a couple of new characters and watch Erik and Lexi grow through some trials. =) Book 3 is in the works. If you'd like a personal reply, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Blessings.

Sally and Tim, This book really hit home for me. I know that God put it in my path at just this time in my life. This book really made me take note of my relationships. My relationship with my husband and kids, but more importantly my relationship with God. I can't hardly wait for the next one in the series to be published. I have read all but one of your books and can relate to most of them. Keep up the good work.
7/1/2009 10:41:46 AM
MASTERFUL. Sally you so got this right, and on so many levels. Congratulations on a wonderful book. (And this was complete BEFORE the October fires? Eerily reminiscent. ) Thank you for sharing your gift with the rest of us. Blessings, Mary Kay

Words cannot even begin to describe the wave of emotion that engulfed me as I read this book! To God Be The Glory! As Indio stated "Hallelujah"! This book touched every unwanted corner in my life that needed to be dealt with. I read this book in one sitting! Just got the book from the library yesterday afternoon and finished it before bed lastnight! OH so captivating! I have read all your books except 2; The Beach House and A Time to Gather. Keep letting the Lord use you to help others! Thank you so very much for your inspiration Mrs. John.

"A time to mend" indeed...may that be your experience even in these mind-boggling, numbing days of rebuilding your lives after the fire. You are on our minds and in our prayers constantly. Much love, Margo & Glenn

Dear Reader Friends: I just wanted to let you all know that my husband Tim and I here in San Diego lost our house last week. Fire tore up our street about 4:45 a.m. Monday morning, October 22. Thanks be to God, every neighbor escaped harm. An aerial photo of our devastated block was on the front page of the October 24 LA Times and, I believe, the following Sunday’s Oregonian (Portland). I know how you all are – when you read this you’ll pray for us. I thank you for that. Our immediate needs are being abundantly met through family, friends, strangers, and the insurance company. I had planned to post a note regarding the new book due for release soon. (Yes, finally!) The oddest thing is that a major event in the story is a San Diego wildfire. A year after writing the story, I experienced the real thing. Go figure. Here’s the scoop: A TIME TO MEND, Safe Harbors Series #1, will be available January 1, 2008. Thank you for your love and support and your incredibly encouraging notes telling me that my stories speak to you. That means more to me than ever. Blessings to you all. Sally

Thank you all for your compliments on the new website look. I want to thank my young creative friend KRISTEN BALSIS from Colorado Springs who designed the layout. All those lovely colors and that dogwood are hers as well. \O/ Thanks to NICOLE SMITH in Illinois for tweaking the technical side of things and getting us up and running and adding Aslan. \O/ Thanks to NOEL GUILIANOTTI for letting us use his Aslan/Jesus design. \O/ And thanks to my husband Tim and daughter Elizabeth for adding touches and sticking with the project.
